The leaves are turning, and the wind has a hint of the coming winter.
Autumn is a celebration of transition. Of harvest. And of community.
Tableware
These cups are made from a beautifully translucent porcelain clay then glazed in my speckled celadon glaze. The glaze is made from oyster shells and local clay, while the speckles are granulated iron sand from the Salish sea in Washington. The iron sand doesn’t melt in the kiln, giving each piece a lovely, slightly bumpy quality reminiscent of a polished seashell.
Each piece is unique, and some variation is to be expected.
Measures appx. 3.25” at the rim and 2.5” tall. Holds appx 5 fl.oz (150 mL)
These mugs are made from a deep brown stoneware clay, then glazed with my crema glaze. The glaze interacts strongly with the iron rich clay, giving each mug a beautiful range of browns and creams in the kiln firing. Think toasted marshmallows or cappuccino foam.
