David’s work celebrates the diverse physical landscape of Colorado and often incorporates scavenged clay, stone dust and plant matter.

His ceramic practice is firmly grounded in a queer pagan mindset that follows the natural rhythm of the seasons and celebrates the unique characteristics of the land where he lives. His ceramic work extends well beyond the confines of the studio to include foraging for plants and minerals to turn into glazes, following the ebb and flow of the seasons, and using local clays and materials wherever possible.

His work is primarily focused on functional pottery intended for daily use, and he hopes that his work can bring a sliver of the natural world into people’s homes and help turn a mundane cup of coffee into a moment of ritual and reflection.
